Another trip to Vegas, this time to see George Carlin who was performing at my favorite old vegas hotel THE STARDUST. Had a mildly evenful trip out flying DAY-DTW-IND-LAS. Was able to take a bump on the IND-LAS segment and picked up a $300 voucher... and got very lucky, as right after accepting my bump, the IND-LAS was delayed due to a mechanical, and I left before my original flight on a IND-MSP-LAS flight. You can read all about my prediction of this bump on flyertalk.
Arrival in LAS was very smooth, and the Stardust picked me up, as they always do. Check-in took a moment, and I had a very nice, albeit quite standard room in the West Tower on a high floor with a great view of the Strip and Wynn property.
Headed off to meet some friends [of friends] to check them in Harrahs on one of my free 3 day offers... and then I was off to AMP at the Palms to get my hair cut. I just love AMP, and Kristie is AWESOME... that place has a great vibe, and they are so professional... I can't wait to visit again. Played a bit of 9/6 JoB VP, but couldn't get anything to happen. Checked out the "empty" big bacc in the high limit area; of course, $100 minimum. Got back to the 'dust and took a nap, with a wake up call for 11PM. Played big bacc for around 3 hours, consuming a bit more Gray Goose than I should have. Couldn't get anything to really happen; even let the floor supervisor Tony deal for a while... though, this didn't seem to improve matters. Sometimes, you just need to know when to move on, and this was definitely one of those times. Went over to the RIO, since my favorite craps crew with Lane and company comes on around 4AM. A real fun table, but once again, couldn't get anything going... tried a bit of Big Bacc in the ultra chic high limit big bacc pit at the RIO... wasn't going well, and on a $100 table, I'm unwilling to stick around too long. By this time, it was close to 9AM, and the sun was really quite bright, or was it all the Vodka ?
I've always wanted to see George Carlin perform..
Only seen his videos - good ones though!
